In senior Geography, students have been out collecting primary data to help with their field trip reports. Mr Pride's Year 10 Geography class ventured through Surfers Paradise and headed up the Q1 to see what has changed and what has stayed the same in the 'heart of the Gold Coast'.
Mr Steenson and his Year 11 Geography class explored the Broadwater and surrounding areas with Mr Owen and Miss Green to interview the locals and decide whether or not it would be appropriate to develop the areas with a cruise ship terminal and/or entertainment precinct.
Students in Years 7 and 9 also enjoyed viewing the contents of the Queensland Museum Kits. Pictured are students from Miss Slogrove's Year 9 History class with World War 1 artefacts:

Miss Chambers' Year 7 Drama Academy Students working collaboratively on planning, researching, devising, creating and writing scenes for their Gold Coast Secondary Schools' Drama Festival Entry on the topic of Resilience. They are very excited to put together and transform the knowledge gained from guest speakers, Long Bradley, Chaplain and Jordana Kelly, Guidance Officer and from research into original dramatic moments.

Congratulations to Zoe Davies and Samuel Oaten-Trickey in Year 8 who put Mr Blackshaw through his paces interviewing him for their Drama Assessment on the topic of Social Media and Teenagers.
Zoe and Samuel planned and delivered their had hitting interview which had Mr Blackshaw stumped when they asked him whether he knew how many people accessed Facebook in the world.
Mr Blackshaw did share some great words of wisdom on the use positive and negative influences of Social Media on Teenagers. Zoe and Samuel's interview was filmed by Mr Burnim, Film and TV teacher and will be edited for their final assessment.
We would like to say a big THANK YOU to our sponsors Mortgage Choice for supplying our students with a Polo Shirt to wear during their performances in Townsville. Our kids will look extremely smart!!
