QCS MASTERCLASS

This week, our top Year 12 students have attended a QCS 'Masters' Masterclass where they were put through their paces being challenged by some tough QCS style questions and honing their skills. The whole QCS cohort will be invited to participate in a masterclass on Wednesday the 17th of August in the lead up to the QCS Test days on the 30th & 31st of August.

These students have demonstrated incredible commitment to the program giving up their time to participate in these opportunities and it has been an absolute pleasure to get to know them. We wish them all the best as they enter the most challenging phase of their senior schooling journey.

INDUSTRY PATHWAYS

Over the past four days 20 year 12 students have participated in the Certificate II in Sampling and Measurement course onsite, delivered by Leichhardt Education and Training. The students had the opportunity to learn from practicing scientists who have worked on some large resource and infrastructure projects. The students have learnt how to correctly calibrate equipment and conduct environmental sampling of soil and water. They also got to use industry standard equipment that would not otherwise have access to.

NETBALL ACADEMY

Congratulations to our Under 16s and Under 14s netball academy teams who were the winners in the Carina Tigers Schools Cup.

Netball Academy students attended 'Life of an Athlete' camp at the end of Term 2 at the Sport Leadership and Excellence Centre at Runaway Bay. It was a fun three days of training, eating, recovery, team building, leadership and friendship!!

The GC Council called… Ethan Outram answered!

Artbox Reloaded 2016 is an initiative to reduce graffiti on traffic signal boxes and improve visual amenity in the city. GCCC put the call out for local Gold Coast artists to submit designs portraying all things local. Ethan's design inspired by 4212 local streets, the night quarter and a sense of home. The design will be seen at 5379 at the intersection of Siganto Drive & Helensvale Road. Design expected to be installed by 30th June. Keep your eyes peeled!

Year 10 Work Experience

All year 10 students will be participating in Work Experience for a week in term 3 from the 29th August to 2nd September. All year 10 students were given paperwork during their Futures lesson on the 29th April.

Students are required to find their own suitable work placement. All paperwork needs to be returned on the 29th July.
